Purépechas (P’u·rhé·pe·cha) are the indigenous natives that live in Michoacán, Mexico. Michoacán has beautiful landscapes, a rich history, endless agriculture, amazing crafts, and the most magical villages in the Republic. Most importantly, it has exquisite food. Designed for cultural explorers, the Purépecha Cuisine field guide identifies ten traditional foods only found in this region. PXL is a rebranding of the University of Houston Graphic Design pop-up shop.


The goal of the shop is to promote the graphic design program and to raise funds for their graduation portfolio showcase, a public gallery where the students show thier collective work from the last two years. Based on the pixel, the branding&#38;nbsp; uses brightly colored squares of color and pattern to create a dynamic and colorful environment for the designed products.

Their mission is to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities as well as providing emergency aid during natural disasters, war or other conflicts. Everything Felt Different Here is an anthology written, designed, and produced by the class of UHGD19. The book features 26 stories that reflect on themes such as friendship, ecology, and loss, written as reflection after a class trip to Estes Park, Colorado.

Extrañando CasaIs a short story I written and designed within "Everything Felt Different Here" about how my experience in Colorado brought memories from my childhood in Michoacan, Mexico.

The beauty industry is well known for its excessive and unnecessary packaging practices. Arctic Fox is a rebrand for a hair dye company that makes biodegradable and compostable products. The rebrand design uses a handletter logo with hairlike illustrations that represent flowing hair.

In collaboration with Gonzo247, the Cullen Underpass is the central gateway connecting neighborhoods adjacent to the underpass; East Downtown (EaDo), Third Ward, University of Houston and Eastwood.
The Kaleido proposal gives the narrative of change and transformation in each of the neighborhood. Like the kaleidoscope, these communitues shift and transform—&#38;nbsp; each change creating a dynamic and positve iteration.With this beautification project, the goal for the Underpass is to . encourage pedestrians to seek out the space and be more part of the community.

 
For this proposal, as a team we created icons that mirror and reflect each neighborhood, that are transformative power of a kaleidoscope. With each rotation, the beautiful patterns evolve endlessly.
